Youth Ministry – Activities and Events
We bring the students to the Word through small group activities, Scripture memory, and Bible studies. We want to see every young person have real and thriving prayer life. By teaching on prayer, modeling prayer and offering opportunities to pray at altar times, we believe that every young person can grasp hold of the power of prayer. We believe that young people grow when they are able to put what they learn to work. We provide many activities throughout the year for students: Roller Skating, Baseball Games, Movies in the Courtyard, Summer Camp, God Encounter, Worship Team, Drama Team Productions, and Student leadership.

WHAT WE DO
We hit the word hard, holding no punches. This isn’t a fluffy, watered down kind of youth group that is focused on building up your self-esteem or stroking your ego. We stand firm on the truth and we are going to tell it. We believe the most loving thing we can do is lead people in God’s truth.
We have our share of fun too; we play games, go on trips, eat junk and do the typical fun Youth Group things too, it’s just not what we are all about. As we state in Commandment #1 in our igNITE Commandments, if it’s not about Jesus, then we are not about it!
WHO IT’S FOR
igNITE is for anyone in Middle School and High School. It’s for the kids who are seeking God, wanting to grow in their maturity in God, and for those who want to be challenged. Ultimately, it’s for the people who are looking for something real.
Be Different – Like Jesus….
Jesus was counter-cultural, therefore, Christians should be counter-cultural as well. If we are to follow Jesus then we have no reason to be like the world. There is so much pressure on our youth to conform and be like everybody else, no matter how immoral everybody else may be! Everyone wants to be unique but does nothing to be different. At igNITE Student Ministries, our goal is to help students find their identity in Christ Jesus, which is what it truly means to be unique.
It’s a “me first” kind of world filled with pride, closed-mindedness, and unyielding stubbornness. We challenge our kids to be the exact opposite – we challenge them to be H.O.T. which stands for Humble, Open, and Teachable. The belief is if you can act in humility, be open to ideas other than your own, and be willing to be taught and corrected, then you’ll be setting yourself up for
Romans 12:2 – “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind.”
